Home-made Raspberry Juice
Ingredients:
- Ripe raspberries
- Cane sugar
Option 1 for raspberry juice
Press juice from 1 kg of sorted raspberries in batches through clean linen cloth. Add sugar to the obtained juice (half of the volume occupied by the juice). Slowly bring to a boil. Cook for no longer than 5-7 minutes, gently skimming off any foam at the end. Pour the boiling juice into airtight bottles and pasteurize at 80°C for 15 minutes. From the leftover fruit, you can prepare a healthy compote for immediate consumption.
Option 2 for raspberry juice
Press juice from raspberries using a juicer, add sugar, bring to a boil, and pasteurize in bottles. Blend the raspberry fruits, strain through a plastic sieve. Pour the juice into a tall container to settle. Then carefully pour off the clarified juice. Add sugar, bring to a boil, and pasteurize. From the fruit remnants and strained pulp, prepare equally healthy compote.
Usage of raspberry juice
Raspberry fruit juice is an addition to well-boiled warm water or traditional tea. However, it is best to add it to well-warmed herbal or fruit teas, e.g., made from lime blossoms, elderberry, barberry, or wild rose. For 1 cup, use 1-2 tablespoons of thick juice. It is recommended to serve drinks with juice to children or adults several times a day, especially just before putting them to bed. Remember that the most effective warming and sweating effect is achieved after drinking a warm beverage with this juice and immediately before laying down in warm bedding.
Health benefits of raspberry juice
Raspberry juice is not only tasty and aromatic but also healthy. It serves as a reliable remedy for flu, colds, and other winter infections accompanied by fever. It has antiviral properties. It is worth drinking it regularly from autumn, sweetened, for example, in tea, to protect against cold infections. It warms and relieves the discomfort of headaches, muscle, and joint pain associated with colds and flu. It is also recommended for pains caused by rheumatism. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
