To sit with hemorrhoids, try the following tips for quick pain relief, as well as to prevent recurrence:
- Squat on the toilet: When sitting on the toilet, place your feet on a stool about 15-20 centimeters high, and lean your torso slightly forward, resembling an acute angle position. This position changes the position of the intestines, opens the anus, and allows for easier and painless bowel movements. Moreover, it helps prevent constipation, and you won’t need to spend much time in the bathroom.
- Use an inflatable ring in front of the TV: Buy a plastic inflatable ring. When inflated, place it on a chair or sofa instead of a flattened cushion. The ring will change the position of your intestines, making prolonged sitting less burdensome. However, remember to try to get up and move around every 35-60 minutes (go to the kitchen, make tea, walk around the apartment, or go for a walk).
- Rest with your legs up: When you need to lie down during the day, remember to slightly elevate your legs. Place 2-3 pillows under them. This position will relax the muscles around the anus and provide relief from hemorrhoids.
